Different types of pipes and cisterns are an integral part of any construction structures ranging from buildings, sewers, storages to drainage systems. The types of pipes used in a facade are determined by their industrial applications. They are made of different materials such as stainless steel, plastic, fiber and PVC etc. to withstand different service conditions as per their range of applications.
Corrugated pipes are an important type that are widely demanded in areas where pipes are buried under the soil and have to bear different soil conditions and electric resistance. To make the pH level and resistance fall in synchronization, the pipes must be coated with required materials to maintain insulation. The most frequently used coating materials for steel pipes are zinc-galvanizing, aluminizing, polymer and asphalt etc. They are mostly used in drains and sewers where the properties like flexibility, durability and anti-corrosion are of top priority.
Corrugated tubing fittings made of plastic are more capable of dealing with higher pH value. To connect different joints of corrugated tubes, different methods are utilized such as flexible pipe connections, coupling bands and so on. Both the stainless steel and plastic pipes have their own benefits for different applications.
Benefits of corrugated plastic pipes:
Since plastic pipes are not good conductors of electricity, they have a longer life in comparison to other materials. Abrasion on the surface is also low in plastic pipes. Plastic pipes are very strong against acidic fluids present in sewer and drains. They are very light in weight and yet carry maximum strength. Comparatively less efforts are required in installation and they are also scalable when the available space is very low. Plastic pipes ensure minimum leakage, the joints are made of strong material to not let any gaps leak the liquid. Due to high flexibility, PTFE corrugated hose are easy to transport and install.
Benefits of corrugated stainless steel pipes:
Corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) is more flexible and durable as compared to traditional piping methods. For applications such as gas piping, they are coated with an exterior plastic coating. They are leak proof as they have minimum possible joints at the time of installation. A noticeable advantage of using stainless steel pipes is time saving as they can be installed in a fraction of total time needed to install other pipes.
